Hiccups
I do these little hiccup-burp things all the time. It's like a single hiccup and not quite a burp...but it happens all the time. I guess the baby is making me full of air or gas. Speaking of....
Gas
So I guess I've been a little gassy lately (yes I know you all want to hear about this!) Although Ryan doesn't necessarily like it, he does find it kind of funny that I'll be walking along and a toot will escape. I guess it's because I don't usually make noise, but these have. Luckily I'm not tooting all the time, but we've had some funny instances.
Sneezing
I am sneezing constantly! I read that if you have seasonal allergies sometimes pregnancy can enhance those allergies or get rid of them completely. They must have been enhanced in me because I sneeze a lot every day. And they're big sneezes too!
Heartburn
I must say that so far I am lucky that I haven't really gotten heartburn, although I've heard and read it can get really bad in the third trimester. But I did have a couple days where it was a constant pain in my chest. It felt like a knife was trying to stab me from the inside out! I was constantly eating tums for those couple days. I really hope it does not get bad during the third trimester because if it's anything like those couple of days were, I don't know if I can take it!
Eating
I'm always hungry! I think I'm on a eat every 2 hours diet. Generally I eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast around 7:00, a snack (most recently cheese and crackers) between 9 and 10, lunch at 12 which has been consisting of left overs, strawberries, and maybe a granola bar, and a snack around 3 (the granola bar if I didn't eat it for lunch and an apple). Then I eat something when I get home around 5:30 or 6 and then dinner at 7:30 and dessert at 9. I am still getting full off of smaller portions, but am just eating more constantly. I've been eating a lot of sweets (which I know is bad) like ice cream and M&M's. But they just taste sooo good!
Movement
So I wasn't really sure if I was feeling the baby move before, but now I'm positive I am. It's really hard to describe. I guess it kind of feels like a little wiggling sometimes and sometimes like a bubble moving under my skin. I read that around this time the baby is starting to develop a REM cycle so it sleeps 12-14 hours a day. I've noticed that when I'm moving around at work and through the day, he's pretty still, but at night (and especially when I lay down to go to bed) he starts moving more. These last 2 nights when I started feeling him go I put my hand on my belly with a little pressure and felt a push!
Overall
Overall I'm feeling really good. I'm really not moody or anything, and generally I'm in a happy mood. I think I like being pregnant :-)
Miscellaneous
We went to Myrtle Beach on Thursday June 23 through Sunday June 26. We had a really nice time. We just lazed around on the beach. On Saturday we played mini-golf. I got us a hotel room right on the beach for Thursday and Friday, then we stayed Saturday in a condo on the beach with Tawny and Carol. Views were great, weather was hot, wished we could have stayed longer!
I really need to start working on the baby's room. I need to get two closets organized so that I can move stuff out of the baby's room to the closets. We had used that room as an office before we got our front room done so now it's just got junk in it. We've picked out the colors of light blue and light yellow for the room. There is a chair rail around the room, so we're going to do yellow on top and blue on the bottom. We also have a second room that is painted a dark blue and our room is painted a light blue, so Ryan has gotten ambitious and wants to paint our bedroom and bathroom while we're at it so that we don't have three blue rooms. I guess I need to stop by Lowe's for some paint swatches!
