As most of you know, I am part of a community chorus and we are getting ready for our spring show. I am doing a tap dance to the Charleston (not just me...a group of us). Well, we were practicing last night and were figuring out our final poses. They were asking if one girl and I could do something on the floor, and she kind of flopped down on her belly. Of course we were all saying I couldn't do that because I'm pregnant, but I kind of sprawled out on my side and did a funny pose. When I got up, one lady told me, "You better be careful becuase you might lose the baby. I'm not trying to scare you but it can happen cause it happened to me." Now, this lady is one of those who probably means well and I'm sure had a good heart, but it kind of socially awkward and just talks without thinking, so it gets kind of annoying. Anyway, she proceeded to tell me that the first three months are the most critical in which I proceeded to tell her I was past that and then let it drop. But I've been thiking about this and it's one thing to tell someone to be careful, but why go on and say anything about losing the baby? It's been bothering me becuase (1) I'm not a moron and I've been reading my books and going to the doctor and (2) it just doesn't seem like a nice thing to say to a pregnant person. Maybe I'm overreacting, but it's been on my mind, and now I've vented to you all. Thanks! :-)
