We had a very busy but productive labor day weekend, and we are exhausted! Ryan had to work every day since it was a holiday weekend. Technically, the office had Monday off, but that doesn't count for sales reps! Anyway, we finally got started on the baby's room! I talked to the doctor's office about painting and they said it was fine as long as it was ventilated. There was no problem since we were going to use latex paint. They just said to take breaks if the smell got to me and to stay off ladders! So, we painted the trim on Thursday after work. Then our weekend went as follows:
Saturday: Ryan goes to work in the morning. I take the car in to get an oil change, tire rotation, some filters, and hear about all the other things that will need to be done soon. Then I go to Lowe's to get the paint and supplies. Ryan gets home and we paint the first coat. It took about 2-3 hours. We were done around 3 or 4. Then we did nothing the rest of the day.
Sunday: Got up and went to church. After church, Ryan goes to work. I go to Lowe's to get a couple more things, do some touch-ups on the ceiling, and then start cleaning the house. Ryan gets home and we paint the second coat. We are done about 5:00. I just run to the store for subs for dinner.
Monday: Ryan goes to work in the morning. I clean all day. Ryan gets home around 2:30 and we go to Babies R Us and buy a crib and dresser. Yay! Then I go to the store for a few groceries. Then we crash! I did make a good dinner of Monterey Chicken and Zucchini Corn Fritters. Ryan fell asleep on the couch around 8:00! I read and relaxed.
So this next statement makes sense, it helps to know that the baby's room has a chair rail, so the top portion is yellow and the bottom portion is blue. So the only bummer is that the top portion still has some patchy spots so we are going to have to do a third coat tonight! We are busy the rest of the week and weekend, and we just want to get it done, so it has to be tonight. Oh well.
We are excited about the baby's furniture. It ended up costing a little less than expected because we got 10% off for signing up for the card, and the cashier used a 20% off one item coupon to help us out. Saving money is always nice. We'll probably pick it up in a week or two. Now I'm looking for a changing table. I'm just looking online and I think I've found a few simple ones that will look nice.
Next doctor appointment is Thursday. I'll be 33 weeks along. It's going pretty fast now!
